Naloxone (Narcan)

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is an emergency rescue medication that can be easily administered in the event of opioid overdose. Opioids include both prescription drugs such as Oxycodone and street drugs such as heroin. People who use opioids, and those who care about someone who uses opioids, should carry Naloxone.

In Michigan, Naloxone is available to anyone without a prescription. To find a pharmacy that participates in the statewide standing order for Naloxone, see the state's list of pharmacies approved to distribute Naloxone.
