Below is a list of resources available in Ingham County.

Maternal Child Health Division Referral Form

Children's Special Healthcare Services

CSHCS program provides services for children and some adults, with special health care costs and needs. CSHCS covers more than 2,700 medical diagnosis and conditions. CSHCS coordinate services with your primary health insurance to make sure health care needs are met that may include equipment, financial reimbursement to attend out of area medical providers appointments or assistance while child inpatient. Healthy Michigan

The Healthy Michigan Plan is a health care program through the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH). Now thousands more people will be able to afford health care coverage which means more people will be preventing illnesses and getting healthy. Eligibility for this program will be determined using the Modified Adjusted Gross Income methodology.

Ingham County Health Department

Mission is to carry out the Ingham County Board of Commissioners' responsibilities to protect and promote the health of Ingham County residents. This is done through programs to prevent and control communicable diseases, programs to protect citizens from environmental hazards and several efforts and programs to link county residents to an organized system of health care.

Maternal Infant Health Program

MIHP is a program for all Michigan women with Medicaid health insurance who are pregnant and all infants with Medicaid. It is a benefit of their insurance. MIHP provides support to promote healthy pregnancies, good birth outcomes, and healthy infants.

MPHI (the Michigan Public Health Institute) is a unique public trust – a non-profit institute dedicated to improving community health through collaboration and the use of state-of-the-art community health practices.

National Fatherhood Initiative

National Fatherhood Initiative’s mission is to improve the well-being of children by increasing the proportion of children with involved, responsible, and committed fathers in their lives.

National Healthy Start Association

Committed to improving birth outcomes and health disparities that exist within communities of color throughout the United States.

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Safe Sleep

Led by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in collaboration with other organizations

Nurse Family Partnership

A nurse-led maternal health and home visitation program, Nurse-Family Partnership partners low-income, first-time moms with maternal and child health nurses.

Safe Sleep

The Safe to Sleep® campaign, formerly known as the Back to Sleep campaign, focuses on actions you and others can take to help your baby sleep safely and to reduce your baby’s risk of Sudden Unexplained Infant Death Syndrome (SUIDS) and sleep-related causes of infant death.

State of Michigan, Infant Mortality Health Indicators Dashboard

Why it Matters: Infant mortality is a critical indicator of the overall health and welfare of Michigan and the quality and accessibility of prenatal care for women. The infant mortality rate represents the number of infant deaths before age one per 1,000 live births.

Programs that address disease prevention, health promotion, risk reduction, healthier lifestyle choices, use of health care services, and barriers to health care.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for improving access to health care by strengthening the health care workforce, building healthy communities and achieving health equity.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

The WIC program is a federal food and nutrition program. Eligible women and children receive breastfeeding support, nutrition counseling and education, and supplemental foods.
