Healthy! Capital Counties - Healthy! Capital Counties (H!CC) is a regional community health assessment and prioritization project undertaken by the four hospital systems (Sparrow Health Systems, McLaren Greater Lansing, Hayes-Green Beach, and Eaton Rapids Medical Center) and the three local health departments (Barry-Eaton District Health Department, Ingham County Health Department, and Mid-Michigan District Health Department) serving Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties.
The antecedent of both the Behavior Risk Factor Survey and the Healthy! Capital Counties Community Health Profile was a report was called Our Health Is in Our Hands. Our Health Is in Our Hands was so well received by the community that demand for health assessment data for a variety of planning activities increased to the point that one document was no longer sufficient to contain all the information demanded, hence the two reports. Although both reports are similar, they perform very different functions. One, the Behavioral Risk factor report, is concerned exclusively to the health and behaviors of the adult population of the region and functions more as a data reference tool for the Department and the Community. The products from the Healthy!Capital Counties Project, however, contain information from a variety of sources and chronicles the overall health and well-being of the entire community. Its intent is to assist in long-term planning and prioritization of community concerns.
The Healthy! Capital Counties project, currently in its third cycle, produces documents describing the needs and priorities of the community. To view the documents, click on the links below to be directed to the relevant page on the project's website:
