Kris Drake, MHA, FACHE,
is the Executive Director of Ingham Community Health Centers (ICHCs), effective January 11, 2021. In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for strategic oversight and implementation of the organization's mission and goals, execution of all Board established policies, and the effective and efficient operation and growth of the ICCHC. Throughout his career, Mr. Drake has served in operational leadership positions at prominent regional and national organizations, such as Sparrow Health System and Trinity Health. In these roles, he has developed and executed strategic and operational initiatives in complex and diverse organizational settings. As a leader, he has used diverse experiences to identify opportunities for collaborating with community partners to improve health outcomes and advance health equity. Kris earned a bachelor's degree in Public Administration and master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI and a Sis Sigma certification through the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. He is certified as a Fellow in Healthcare Management by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In addition, he possess a certification in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. In 2020, Kris was honored as a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by the ACHE for commitment to the community and advancing the field of healthcare management. He was appointed to both the ACHE Regional Advisory Council and Management Series Editorial Board. Past recognitions include the ACHE "Regent Emergent Executive Leader Award" and United Way "Loaned Executive". He has served on the Board of Directors or committees of a number of organizations, including Goodwill Industries, Great Lakes Chapter of ACHE, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance, Michigan Primary Care Association and United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan, to name a few. He has also been very involved with community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Rotary International. Lastly, Mr. Drake is a resident of Ingham County, an avid reader and bicyclist, author of the Revelation: 30 Rules of Effectiveness, supporter of Michigan State University's athletics and science programs and enjoys traveling, stargazing and the performance arts.
Dr. Ronald A. Charles, MD MHA FACP FACHE, is the Chief Medical Director of the Ingham Community Health Centers. Dr. Charles is the former Vice President of Medical Affairs for Buckeye Community Health Plan, a 350,000-member managed care plan serving the Ohio Covered Family and Children, and Aged Blind and Disabled Medicaid programs, as well as the Medicare, dual eligible, and health exchange populations. During his tenure at Centene Corporation, he helped the Ohio subsidiary to grow from 120,000 members to 350,000 members which increased the plan to a two-billion-dollar health company, oversaw 2 successful NCQA audits, and has zero turnover of medical directors for the last 5 years. In addition, he spearheaded an effort to maintain the Illinois plan's good relationship with the state after an abrupt change of medical affairs leadership without any loss of the organization's reputation. Dr. Charles has worked in federally qualified community health centers (FQHCs) as both practitioner and as a medical director, and in academic medicine as an assistant professor in Internal Medicine at Wayne State prior to working in Medicaid manage care. He has a master's in Health Services Administration from Salve Regina University. He is a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a member of the National Medical Association, American Medical Association, Association for Physician Leadership, and the National Association of Health Services Executives. Dr. Charles is a native of Detroit, Michigan and is a graduate of Cass Technical High School, the University of Michigan, and Wayne State University School of Medicine. A board-certified internist, Ronald completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and has worked with the medically under-served throughout his medical career. He is a volunteer physician with the Cabrini Clinic, an active member of St. Matthew's & St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the Chair of The Crescent Educational Foundation of Detroit. In his free time, Dr. Charles enjoys attending museums, the theater, travel, hiking, and photography. We are excited to have him join us.
Dr. Monica Stafford, DDS, is the Dental Director of the Ingham Community Health Centers Dental Services. She received a Master of Public Administration and Health Care Administration degree from Western Michigan University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan. she is a retired United States Army Reserves Dental Officer Colonel, who has worked in general and private dentistry practice. Dr. Stafford provides direct patient care and oversees all dental services within the Ingham Community Health Centers and Ingham County Jail, together with school-age and community-based oral health programs. Dr. Stafford assumed the position of Interim Dental Director in February, 2020 and was promoted to Dental Director on August 31, 2020.
Elizabeth McGee, Finance Coordinator, holds a Bachelors of Science in Management from the University of Massachusetts. She began with Ingham County as an Administrative Analyst in 2005. In 2013, she became the Finance Coordinator for the Ingham Community Health Centers. Beth is responsible for coordinating the development of and monitoring all Community Health Center budgets, including grants, contracts and managed care arrangements.
Izabela Wackowski-Norris, MPA,
Community Health Center Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Development and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in December, 2013, and provides administrative oversight to the Forest Community Health Center, in addition to managing the refugee and Ryan White programs. Izabela is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management.
Lucretia "Tricia" Ware, BA, MA, M.DIV,
Community Health Center Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Davenport University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and M.DIV from Liberty University. She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in 1995 and currently provides administrative oversight to Birch Health Center and River Oak Community Health Center. She is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management.
Keyonie "Key" James, MPH, started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in 2018 as the Strategic Project & Implementation Manager. Ms. James oversees strategic planning and implementation, compliance, and quality assurance for the Community Health Centers. She has experience in domestic and international public health, and capacity building with expertise in program management, evaluation and implementation. She received a B.A. in Women's Studies from Michigan State University and a MPH with a certificate in Program Evaluation from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health. Key is also certified in Public Health (CPH).
Nancy Diawara, BS, Community Health Center Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Economics and English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan and is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Nancy began her career with the Ingham County Health Department in 2001 with the Registration and Enrollment unit. She transitioned to the Ingham Community Health Centers in January 2018, and became manager of the Willow Health Center and the Sexton, Eastern, Pattengill, Everett and Gardner School-based Health Centers. Nancy is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development and budget management.
Connie L. Crowe, B.S.N., RN, Community Health Center Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Education. She began her career with Ingham Community Health Centers in June, 2014 as Sexton Health Center nurse. In March, 2015, she became the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Coordinator, providing training and support for the clinical staff in primary care sites for a multi-site PCMH recognition under the leadership of Krista Haven, Clinical Services Manager. In April, 2017, she became the supervisor for the Women's Health Services and Cedar Pediatrics Health Center. While providing administrative, clinical oversight, and budget management for the Women's Health Services and Cedar Pediatrics, she also coordinates the activities related to Title X, 340 B Drugs, and Infection Control for the AAAHC.
