The Office for Young Children provides enhanced child care referral services to several groups in the Lansing area.

Enhanced services are available to 1) students attending Lansing Community College, 2) active duty military families, or activated/deployed National Guard or Reserve family. In an enhanced referral, the Early Childhood Consultant will provide the client with a current list of child care providers who do have vacancies, more in depth consultation about the client’s needs, additional written material and a follow-up call to see if any further assistance is needed.  The client is held responsible for screening, interviewing, visiting and choosing the provider.

OYC has agreements to provide Enhanced Child Care Referral Services for the following groups:

• Active Duty Military Family or activated/deployed National Guard or Reserve family - Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood  
• Lansing Community College (students) - contact OYC at 517-887-4319 or 800-234-6996 and press option#1.  An Early Childhood Consultant will complete the child care intake.
