The Office for Young Children provides enhanced child care referral services to several groups in the Lansing area.

Enhanced services are available to students attending Lansing Community College, active duty military families, employees who work at Board of Water and Light, or employees of University of Michigan. In an enhanced referral, the Early Childhood Consultant will provide the client with a current list of child care providers who do have vacancies, more in depth consultation about the client’s needs, additional written material and a follow-up call to see if any further assistance is needed.  The client is held responsible for screening, interviewing, visiting and choosing the provider.

OYC has agreements to provide Enhanced Child Care Referral Services for the following groups:

• Active Duty Military Family or activated/deployed National Guard or Reserve family - Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood
• Lansing Board of Water and Light
• Lansing Community College (students)
