Child Care Professionals

The Ingham County Health Department Office for Young Children (OYC) is now part of the Great Start Child Care Central Regional Resource Center.

Our goal is to share many rich resources throughout the region and offer some new opportunities for you to participate in training experiences and lending library materials. 

  • We maintain a user-friendly web page which contains resources, events, and educational opportunities

  • You will find Training and Professional Development opportunities offered in a variety of ways; traditional classroom, correspondence, hybrid (classroom and correspondence), MOODLE Online and video learning.  Click HERE to print off our most recent training schedule.

  • Training for DHS Relative and Day Care Aides: Great Start to Quality Orientation and Tier 2

  • Many of our trainings offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's) upon completion. 

  • On-site consultation services

  • A newsletter is published and distributed quarterly. 

  • OYC provides opportunities for enhancing provider professionalism through collaboration with other agencies, community events, conferences, networking and education .

  • Referrals to community agencies for additional services for families and the children in your care

  • Listing for job opportunities in the tri-country area in the early childhood edcuation field

June 2010 - T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood ® Michigan is accepting applications for new scholarship recipients.  There may be opportunities for retro reimbursement for coursework completed back to Fall, 2009 as well.
