Community Collaborations and Partners

OYC staff play a very active role in Clinton, Eatan, Ingham, and Shiawassee county. Our goal is to promote quality child care and the importance of early childhood education. OYC is able to share our energy and ideas with some of the community agencies that appear below:

Born Learning - A public engagement campaign focusing on creating early education learning opportunities in everyday situations, and the importance of early learning experiences.


   This first website offers you information on Michigan's Great Start System and the Michigan Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC). Check out the Background Information page and the “What’s Happening” to participate in the development of Michigan’s Great Start System.
 
The MI Great Parents website has County by County listings of Parenting Resources and Activities through local local Great Start initiatives throughout Michigan :  http://www.migreatparents.org

ECLC logoThe Early Childhood Literacy Coalition is a volunteer action committee comprising many of the capital area’s leading literacy, education and early childhood advocates.

The group gathers monthly to network, share resources and discuss ways to promote literacy among Michigan’s youngest citizens and their families. The Coalition is a sub-committee of the Ingham County 0-5 Committee.

MiAEYC logoThe Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children is committed to improving the education and welfare of children from birth through age eight. MiAEYC works for young children, their families and early childhood professionals. MiAEYC supports the professional development of its members through quality training, materials and services. More than 3,000 early childhood educators, professionals and suppliers of children's services belong to MiAEYC in 17 affiliate chapters and three local chapters.

Head StartCapital Area Community Services, Inc., Head Start and Early Childhood Programs, in partnership with the community and participating families, is dedicated to creating a comprehensive, culturally sensitive, nurturing, safe and healthy learning environment in which children, families and staff are inspired to reach their fullest potential.
