September is National Preparedness MonthIn observance of the 7th annual National Preparedness Month, the Ingham County Health Department will have preparedness information available at the Human Services Building, 5303 S. Cedar St., Lansing, throughout the month of September. National Preparedness Month is held each September to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. Displays on the first and second floor of the Human Services Building (Door #3) will have FREE preparedness handouts and child activity books, as well as 2011 www.do1thing.us calendars. www.do1thing.us is a program that began in the Lansing area in 2005 to help individuals and families take small, manageable steps towards personally preparing for an emergency or disaster, such as a flood or tornado. By following each month's preparedness topic (September is Getting Emergency Information), in a year’s time, you will have everything you need for your own emergency supply kit and plan. Stop by today to learn what YOU can do to prepare!
