ICHD Expands H1N1 Priority GroupEffective 10/26/09, the Ingham County Health Department has expanded the age group for those with a chronic medical condition to receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccine. The 2009 H1N1 vaccine is now available to those aged 5-64 years with a medical condition that places them at higher risk for flu-related complications (previously it was those aged 5-18 years). Documentation verifying an individual's medical condition is still required. Examples of documentation include: 1. Doctor's note 2. Medication/empty pill bottle/inhaler that identifies the patient 3. Medical bill or an old prescription (NOTE: A doctor may also prescribe the 2009 H1N1 vaccine; however, a prescription is NOT required.) Monday, October 26, 2009, hep_hendrickson |
