The Ingham County Health Department offers many programs and services to support families. Research shows that the early years can be some of the most influential. We aim to connect families to the care and support they need to thrive.



Children's Special Health Care Services
Provides services for children, and some adults, with special health care costs and needs.

Healthy Homes
Information and resources to help residents, property owners, parents and others keep homes safe and healthy.

Home Visiting
Health department staff are available to meet with new and expectant parents at home to connect them to health resources and tools.

Immunizations
Information about vaccines and appointments for all ages.


Office for Young Children
Child care information and support for parents and providers.

Pediatric and Adolescent Care
Health care is available through Community Health Centers. Immunizations are available to all county residents.

Prenatal and New Parents
Many services are available for young families.

Vision and Hearing
ICHD screens children in schools and preschools throughout the county.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
A federal food and nutrition program for children and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
