Administrative Team


Medical Director Erik Wert, DO, FACOI
Russell Kolski, Deputy Health Officer/Executive Director, holds a Bachelor of Science  Degree in Nursing from Ferris State University and is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University. He has also completed  the GWU Geiger-Gibson Fellowship Capstone and the University of Kansas Medical Center Community Health Center Executive Fellowship. Previously, he worked at Baldwin Family Health Care as their Strategic Projects Director. He started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in 2016 as the Deputy Health Officer/ Executive Director. Russell is responsible for the oversight and management of the Ingham Community Health Centers, working closely with the Ingham Community Health Center Board.

Dr. Erik Wert, Medical Director, holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Union College and a Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. He is currently working on his Master of Public Health Degree from Michigan State University. He completed his traditional internship and Internal Medicine Residency at Ingham Regional Medical Center/McLaren-Greater Lansing in 2000. He has been in private practice until joining the Ingham Community Health Centers in August, 2014. Dr. Wert is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all medical care and services administered through the Ingham Community Health Centers.   

Dr. William Gifford,
Women's Health Medical Director, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of New Hampshire, a medical degree from the University of Vermont, completed his internship at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY, and fulfilled the Family Practice Residency Program at Sparrow Hospital in 1980.  He is retired from Sparrow Health Systems and is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all medical care and services administered through Cedar Community Health Center - Women's Health.   

Dr. Stephen Pittel, Dental Director, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit.  He is a Lt. Colonel of the Michigan Air National Guard and the Dental Service Commander, 127th Wing.  Dr. Pittel provides direct patient care and oversees all dental services within the Ingham Community Health Centers and Ingham County Jail, together with school-age and community-based oral health programs.   

Cheryl Gildner, Compliance Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education and Promotion and a Master of Arts in Therapeutic Recreation Administration from Central Michigan University. She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in October, 2007, as a Community Health Center Supervisor and has provided administrative oversight to the Adult Dental, Adult Health, Child Health, Healthy Smiles, and Women’s Health Centers, in addition to managing the refugee, Ryan White, sealant, MIHP, and Title X programs. Cheryl develops, facilitates, implements and continuously evaluates and updates the strategic and business plans, corporate compliance plan, policies, and the health information technology process.

Michelle Gordon-Releford, Grants Coordinator, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wright State University and a Masters of Health Science Education from University of Michigan-Flint. She started with Ingham Community Health Centers in September, 2015. Michelle identifies funding opportunities and coordinates the development, submission, and management of grant applications and rewards for Ingham Community Health Centers.\

Krista Haven, Clinical Services Supervisor, is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University. She began as a Registered Head Nurse with the Ingham County Health Department’s correctional unit in August, 1990, and joined the Ingham Community Health Centers in October, 2012. Krista provides clinical direction and oversight for the Ingham Community Health Centers’ nursing and clinical assisting staff. She leads the Patient Centered Medical Home team, which supported River Oak Community Health Center (f/k/a St. Lawrence and Sparrow Community Health Centers) achieving Level 3 recognition August, 2014.

Elizabeth McGee, Finance Coordinator, holds a Bachelors of Science in Management from the University of Massachusetts. She began with Ingham County as an Administrative Analyst in 2005. In 2013, she became the Finance Coordinator for the Ingham Community Health Centers. Beth is responsible for coordinating the development of and monitoring all Community Health Center budgets, including grants, contracts and managed care arrangements. 

Anne Scott, Child and Adolescent Health Program Coordinator, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban Planning and a Master of Public Health Degree from Michigan State University. She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in July, 2013, as the Grants Coordinator. Anne currently provides administrative oversight for Eastern Health Center and Sexton Health Center, school-based health centers, and Willow Health Center, a school-linked health center. She supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the adolescent health programs, program development, and budget management.

Ruth Scott,
Community Health Center Supervisor, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies, a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Anthropology from Michigan State University.  She joined the Ingham Community Health Centers in March, 2014, and provides administrative oversight to Women's Health Center, Child Health Center, and Well Child Health Center, in addition to managing the MIHP and Title X programs. Ruth is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management.

Izabela Wackowski-Norris, Community Health Center Supervisor, holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Development and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in December, 2013, and provides administrative oversight to the Adult Dental, Adult Health Centers, and Healthy Smiles Dental Center, in addition to managing the refugee and Ryan White programs. Izabela is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management.

Lucretia Ware, Community Health Center Supervisor, holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Davenport University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University.  She started with the Ingham Community Health Centers in 1995 and currently provides administrative oversight to Birch Health Center and River Oak Community Health Center.  She is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management.
