Cooling centers open and Household Waste Collection canceled due to heat

High temperatures can be dangerous, especially for the elderly, young children and people with chronic health conditions. Stay hydrated, avoid the direct sunlight and take regular breaks if you go outside. Use a cooling center if you do not have air conditioning. 

Cooling centers will be open Thursday, July 18 through Saturday, July 20 due to the extreme heat. Here is a list of locations:

Free rides to cooling centers are available for residents with a physical and financial need through CATA, EATRAN, and Clinton Area Transit. Residents should call 2-1-1 for more information.

Also, Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Thursday, July 18 is canceled due to high temperatures. It will reopen on Tuesday, July 23.
